Re: Things that make no sense....

Marriage has worked out well for me. I don't care what anybody else decides to do. Marry, don't marry, it makes no difference to me. Legalities and paperwork have nothing to do with what I'm talking about. The initial question is why would anybody get married. My feeling is that there is a lot to be...

Re: Things that make no sense....

I'm worried that I'm coming off as a know-it-all, like I've got it all figured out. Not what I mean at all. I just tire of hearing marriage getting a bad rap when for me, it's the single decision I'm sure of. Like you said, all couples deal with stuff because they care about each other. But being ma...

Re: Things that make no sense....

When you are not married, you know your partner spends time with you because they want to, not because they have to. That's part of the problem. When you're not married, it's what you want. When you are, you want what your partner wants. My in-laws are coming for a week on Sunday. Is it what I want...

Re: Things that make no sense....

Personally, I think marriage changes the whole dimension of a relationship and not necessarily for the better. To call poppycock and say that it changes the dimension of the relationship seems a bit of a contradiction. I get that it may not be for the better, but it doesn't have to be for the worse...

Re: Nice

I agree with weezer here. This is the first thing I've said regarding the whole incident anywhere. The thing that's most unsettling about the actual shooting, is that everybody automatically knows everything. It's another black kid being gunned down by police. Maybe it will turn out to be that, but ...

Re: Things that make no sense....

No point in doing it poorly. The basic question is what's the point? I think there is a definite point. At a basic level, it's why 'civil unions' aren't cutting it with LGBT community. There are a host of legal benefits to being married (automatic inheritance, hospital access, etc.) but those...

Re: Things that make no sense....

I thoroughly believe in marriage. It's very different than dating and if it's done right, infinitely more rewarding.

Re: Lockport Concert series

I would think Moonlight Drive - basically, The Doors with Ian Astbury singing would be a contender.

I was, indeed, kidding. But you are right. The Wagon Wheel is in there. I take back my complaint about these awards. They're really on top things. I registered and voted for the Wagon Wheel. Well worth the spam I'll be getting.

Re: Democratic president = rising stock market. Republican

Unless you're suggesting that the onset of the Vietnam War was when Johnson sent troops there, you're math is off.

Even if you are making that stretch, equating WWII with Iraq/Afghanistan is bizarre.

eh, buck-o?

I guess that's why Lafontaine isn't the GM.
