Having heard none of them I am going to vote for the most ludicrous reason and may well regret the AKG becuase it was used by Roland to create COSM mic modelling and I own roland VS recorder. So all I needed was a cheap pre mic and a limiter between that and the recorder. Sounds great.
All for under $100.

I haven't heard many spectacular recordings from any studio around here except for Paul's. There is no cheap way to get a label quality recording. I don't care who is doing the job for you.
