Zappa wasn't a drug guy. He was anit-drugs I believe.... all the weird stuff that came outta his head was purely him, not "enhanced" by anything else.

I think the drugs are for the listener.

So we did the Carole King cabaret to sold out crowds this weekend. It is really an amazing space.

Still seriously looking for ideals here from someplace other than the usual theatre and/or jazz realms.

Not to sound uncultured (I do like brie) what goes on with the Cabaret event?

I depends.

Examples of shows include a (expertly arranged) Gershwin, one of the music of Carole King. There was a hilarious parody of the movie Scarface. A one-woman show. Jazz Quartets.

It really could be anything.

I'd like to see a Rocky Horror one....I really have always loved every song in that movie. Would be cool hearing them just as music presentations in various manners.

I could dress in drag and do smokey piano jazz versions of Lilith Fair hits.

I think that's a good idea. While I never really got the movie, the music was clever.

Tom Fenton and Kilissa Cissoko are both involved with the Voice Of Cheese which is a Zappa thing. Tom also plays w/ The Fibs.
