RIP Ted Reinhardt

Postby Ida » March 5th, 2015, 10:49am ... h-20150304

I found out early last evening and am beyond grieved. Local legendary drummer who played everything from fusion to blues to dixieland jazz as only he could. Iconic, approachable, genuine, humble, generous, admired and loved by all who knew him. It was surreal to be surrounded by the players who knew him the best, listening to the joyous musical celebration and tribute to their compadre. I will miss the way he greeted me warmly with a hug at every gig and for allowing me the recent opportunity to sit in for a tune or two. I hope he is hearing everything now, with full clarity and jamming with the best.

This is so sad. On the day Patsy Cline died too.

Gamalon reminded me of King Crimson - sans Chapman stick of course. His work was indeed exemplary.

He will be greatly missed. Now he'll be able to jam with the greats in the sky. Rest in Peace Teddy.

3/6 - 3/7 could and maybe should be remembered as Ted Reinhardt memorial weekend for the live music calendar
