Since Christmas I bought a strat, an acoutstic guitar, locking nut and trem parts for my Ibanez, a Tascam control surface and audio interface, and a Single Rectifier half stack.

I also sold a shitload of stuff, but I still thank God daily for 0% financing :)

I've been pretty good at not spending much lately
...unless you count all the money I spend on gas driving up to Buffalo from Fredonia about twice a week!

As soon as I buy one thing, I realize I could have even better tone, and then I need something else. I spend almost everything I have on gear. I don't buy clothes, sometimes I don't eat, and my car's a piece of shit, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Since christmas I've bought a gibson lp standard, sovtek mig 60, avatar 2x12 cab, 73 pos takamine acoustic, and an mxr distortion +. But, I also did sell a lot of stuff and of course I miss that stuff, so I plan on replacing it.

BITTER SWEET ADDICTION!

Shredded my credit card. If I don't have the cash I don't buy it.

Let's see: in the past 4 years I find strings at concerts discarded by sponsored acts that replace them at least every other show, my cab was found in a dumpster*, my amp was left for dead by a band that abandoned their practice studio, and I traded a pick for my bass.

Oh... I bought my tuner for $3 at a garage sale a couple summers ago. It was originally $5, but I talked him down.

...And I'm still broke from doing that. Man, I wish I had that $3 right now, I tell ya'.

* An amazing find we can credit our drummer with. It didn't have a grill, so I used a sort of fencing to protect the speaker.

I didn't know Richard Dean Anderson played music in Buffalo.

I've been pretty good for the last few months but I figure to date my total over the last 2 years has got to be around the $8,000.00 mark.

Among the investments...
Alesis Ion
Korg MS2000
Moog Polymoog
Hammond B-3/A-100 Chopped w/ a Leslie 122
Various pedals and such
Too many damn power adaptors and 1/4 cables to count

Nah, I'm just a cheap, broke-ass bastard.

I didn't mention the little $4 bits I buy every once in a while to repair my bass from the abuse I give it... which is more along the lines of the MacGuyver action you speak of.

And I forgot to mention the cables I bought after working at GC long enough to get a discount -- $75 of cables for $15. I quit the next day.

So, I probably have about $40 and a pick I found from a dead Allman Bro invested in my entire rig.

I'm beginning to see the root of the problem.........
