2Rabbit - Prey

Postby Bitstar Productions » July 13th, 2015, 8:23pm

Hey y'all! First of all, nice to meet each and every one of you. My name's J, author of the Forestpunk blog and co-creator of Bitstar Productions, a collective out of Portland, Or. designed to spread the word about quality music, visual artists, and writers. Lockport, NY's 2Rabbit got in touch and asked us to help spread the word about their music. I feel like artists shouldn't have to market themselves, and sell their own work. That being said, I'm a true fan of 2Rabbit, and their sister band Pants & The Family. Love how real and individual their music is. I do a lot of music journalism, as one of my many, many jobs, and deal with homogenous press releases from indistinguishable bands, day in, day out. \

2Rabbit are a band of psychedelic eccentrics from Lockport, NY. I describe their sound as "rustbelt psychedelia" - it's got the same visionary quality, but these are not visions of peppermints and gumdrops. This is the sound of having seen too much, and still having to deal with the realities of daily life. This is the dreamlife of the '60s overlaid with late '70s gas shortage dystopia. And yes, there are weeds and vines amidst the ruins, just waiting to break free.

For anyone who is free, who thinks for themselves, and believes that real art made by real people not only can change the world - it's the only thing that ever has.

For fans of Dead Kennedys, Devo, Captain Beefheart thrown in a particle accelerator with Jimi Hendrix.

Thanks for taking a moment to look and listen! Any help you could offer spreading the word on this awesome band would be greatly appreciated!
