Introducing: The Rochester Groovecast Podcast
This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of chatting over Zoom with Ben Albert, a local Rochester podcaster and music mega-fan. Ben’s podcast, the Rochester Groovecast podcast, will be hosted on WNYMusic.com in the very near future.
Ben’s story is similar to many of ours. Over the course of many years, he found himself going out to see live music three to five times a week. His frequency made him start to question if he was just a consumer or if he wanted to produce something to add to his local music scene. This led him to start Groovecast, which was only a podcast initially but eventually became the name of the marketing firm he uses to book and promote bands. The podcast was then renamed the Rochester Groovecast podcast.
Finding himself with a lot of free time thanks to COVID-19, Ben started podcasting once or twice per week, featuring musicians like Sean McNamara from Mosswalk, Ellen Pieroni from the Folkfaces, musician and illustrator Dave Chisholm, and Joe Stehle of The Sideways, to name just a few.
On January 12, 2021, Wicked Squid Studios in Rochester will also be releasing a podcast episode with Ben on as a guest. Ben was also recently on an episode of Afternoon Cocktail with Amanda Ashley.
The first episode of Rochester Groovecast to come to WNYMusic.com will be out this Monday, Jan. 18, 2021. His guest will be WNYMusic.com owner Ryan Gurnett.
