Silo 6

Bio (from 1998)

Never quite sure of how to answer the question, “what kind of music do you play?”, we were forced to invent a name for what we do. For reasons that you will understand only after experiencing the silo 6 extravaganza, we deemed it “swank rock.” that’s right, fool, as swank as they get. It all started a few years back in kancar’s basement, and has evolved into what is now, the wondrous spiritual-musical-emotional-physical-bacon-swanky experience known as silo 6. alright, enough of the deep shit. we were just a bunch of friends from high school who liked music and decided to make so of our own, and have a good time doing it. work, school, practice, shows, maybe a little sleep if we’re lucky, living the rock ‘n roll dream. It’s fun, people seem to like it, so, hey, what the hell?

In august of ’96, we recorded a six-song demo tape in the swank settings of atomic gardens.  this demo includes our smash hits, polyester child, Father’s guilt, Lonely Road, Bright green sun, Aloneway, 30 seconds of uncertainty. wow! That means that every song on the tape was a smash hit! pretty good, eh? we have sold over 400 copies of this badboy, and unfortunately we don’t have any left. but, if you are dying to listen to this, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. You can listen to clips of songs from the demo tape.

This past july, we spent two days recording in the plush settings of select sound studios, where we recorded nine songs which have become our debut cd-release, let it go. found on this piece of work are the new tunes spy hunter, amphibious me, psuedobanshee, pride’s umbrella, periwinkle, and monochrome red, as well as brand-new versions of your favorites 30 seconds of uncertainty, polyester child, bright green sun! you can hear tunes off this, too.

If you’re interested in a tape, or a t-shirt, or stickers, or our top of the line lunch boxes, contact someone in the band. we also have a pretty nifty mailing list. you probably won’t get any free guitars in the mail, but occasionally you’ll receive a mildly amusing newsletter.
