Amateur Hockey Club
Ever heard a story that changed your life? This story might not be one of those.
But sometimes you can receive incredible insights from something as mundane as the caption on the back of a Molson Canadian bottle.
Amateur Hockey Club was assembled in summer 2017. With a short set of inspired originals, the band made their debut live performance in October 2017 at the Tudor Lounge. Since then, Amateur Hockey Club has played dozens of shows at some of Buffalo’s premier local venues, including Nietzsche’s, Buffalo Iron Works, and headlining slots at Mr. Goodbar.
The band’s debut EP, Amarsi un Po, draws influences from many genres and eras to create a sound that is both original and familiar. Through the universal languages of fat riffs, danceable grooves, and soaring guitar solos, Amateur Hockey Club seeks to share a musical experience with everyone in earshot. The band’s lyrics beg to be heard by any 20-something that understands life might not be what you dreamt it would, and that that doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
This story might not change your life, but it changed the lives of four young men looking to break out of their everyday routine. Amateur Hockey Club is playing soon at a dive bar near you, so you can make yourself part of the story if you would like.
