Announcing: Band Together Buffalo’s Shutdown Showcase

One of the industries that have been affected the most by the pandemic shutdowns is live music, with tours cancelled, venues closed, and much uncertainty. However, the lack of live shows has given rise to home concerts live streamed on social media.

Local live music streaming platform Band Together Buffalo is taking advantage of this. It has put together a three-round, submission-based virtual talent showcase for the greater Western New York area called the Shutdown Showcase. Any WNY-based band/artist can submit original work.

Coordinator Andre Pilette says, “We have four goals: to stimulate the local music economy, provide exposure for local artists, engage the greater Western New York community with local-centric content, and to come together as collaborators to do something for the greater good of our community.”

Artists who make it to the final round will have their content professionally produced. Other prizes include studio time and slots at local venues and festivals.

The deadline to apply is January 18, 2021. To learn more about the Shutdown Showcase and to submit your music, click here.
